Happy 4th of July

I was really excited about the 4th this year because this was the first time Landen was able to see the fireworks. It was such a fun night. I loved watching him get so excited!

Landen loved watching the fireworks and kept saying "more." Yes Corbin had to put on sunglasses because they were too bright and Landen had to cover his ears because he thought they were too loud. All in all it was a great 4th of July!

Birthday again

Even though we celebrated Landen's birthday the week before we moved, I still wanted to do something on his actual birthday. His first birthday in North Carolina! So my friend Janae and her son Mitch (who I knew when Corbin was in Medical in California. They were in our same ward there. Small world!) went to Red Robin for dinner! He got a balloon and free ice-cream.

He loved his ice-cream, but wasn't so sure about people singing to him. He kept giving the servers his typical Landen face.

It was fun celebrating twice!

Move

We finally made it to North Carolina! What a process it was and talk about stressful! We decided to go with using a POD. You pack it and the company picks it up and drives it across the country for you and delivers it at your doorstep. We only got one POD. We thought since we sold the majority of our furniture everything would fit. Well to make a long story short a good chunk of our stuff did not fit! After much strategy, Corbin and two of our good friends figured out how to make everything that we were going to leave behind fit into the pathfinder. Can't believe it happened. I have a picture to prove it! Landen and I flew out of Wichita, Kansas because the flight was cheaper and left on June 30th. Landen got to fly free for one more flight! We left at 8am to catch a 12pm flight. We had to drive 2 1/2 hours, but my friend Robyn took me, so there was always good conversation. We made it to our first destination and then was told there was a 3 1/2 hr layover. Ugh! Layovers with kids is not my favorite thing. Thank goodness we had our DVD player and there were plenty of people to watch.

Exhibit A: This guy was literally passed out and snoring! One of the airport workers tried to wake him up, but he didn't budge. Eventually someone covered him up with a blanket. Guess if they couldn't wake him up they thought to make him comfortable! Don't you love his belly hanging out?? Oh yeah!

Landen was such a trooper! I even let him suck his thumb! What a nice mom I am!

Ok...here is part of the stuff packed in the pathfinder....and.......

Here is the rest!! Crazy huh?? I was so impressed!

This is the car all packed! The inside was packed to the roof! It looks like a lowrider. I still can't believe it all fit! I'm so glad we are finally here! The POD was delievered today. YAHOO!!
