Weaning

It is official! I am done nursing!!!! I thought I would be sad, but I feel a new sense of freedom and it's wonderful. From the beginning I said I would nurse until Landen was 6 months old and then I would be done. Then 6 months rolled around and I told myself I would nurse until Landen was 12 months old. So I kept doing it mainly because it was so convenient (I did enjoy being close to Landen too) and I loved not having the extra expense of buying formula. The last two months it's been a gradual thing. He was slowly nursing less and eating more table food. Sometimes I felt like I was forcing him to nurse. I was expecting this process to be painful and uncomfortable, but it hasn't been. It's been great! I felt like it was too easy. I made it a year! I'm very proud of myself.

Sugar anyone??

I've decided to take on the challenge of not eating sweets for one month! Crazy you might say?? Yes...I've tried this before as my New Year's resolution and failed miserably, but I'm determined to succeed! My sister in law Brittanny has given me the idea and she has been going strong for almost two weeks. So I talked to her this afternoon around 5pm and I was so pumped up about it. I decided I was going to start right then and there. That night at 7pm I had a presidency meeting and I made the announcement to all the girls that I was cutting out sugar....my sweet friend Randi said "Don't start tonight...I have cupcakes!" How do I respond?? "Ok...I'll start tomorrow." So tomorrow is officially my first day of no sweets. Obviously there are so many things that have sugar in it, so I'm really cutting out the obvious things like cupcakes, cookies, brownies, ice cream...all the good stuff:) Let the count down begin!

Arizona Trip

Last week Landen and I flew to Arizona to be apart of the baby blessing of the newest Harline! Baby Owen. It was such a wonderful experience and I couldn't help but reflect on when Landen was blessed. I think about how precious these little ones are and how Heavenly Father has trusted us to raise His children. What a honor and rewarding responsiblity. I'm so glad Landen has another boy cousin to play with! Poor Annelise...(she is the only niece).

Owen is the sweetest little boy and is just so beautiful! I may be a little bias since I am his Aunt:) I loved holding him close and cuddling with him.

We had a lot of fun together. We went to a place called Rockin' R Ranch and panned for gold! Very exciting. We found several gold nuggets:)

You can't go to Arizona without living in the pool! There was plenty of pool playing in the 100+ degree weather.
Mama T (aka Grammy) loved having all her grandkids together. They all love her so much. She spoils them rotten!

Corbin's brother Brandon. What a proud papa!
All the cousins played so well together! I was so nervous, but it was so cute to watch them interact with eachother. They loved to play trains. Now we just need to all live closer. Maybe one day. It was a great trip and alway sad when having to say goodbye, but Christmas is just around the corner!

Mommy and Me classes

Today me and Landen started a mommy and me swimming class. It's every Tuesday and Thursday for a month. I've been wanting to do some sort of swimming class for a while and it worked out that they had a class at my gym! Perfect! Landen had so much fun today and was splashing a ton.
In this class they learn how to enter and exit the water safely, explore floating on the back and front, change body position in the water, and submerge and explore breath control. These are all the things I really want Landen to learn. I'm so excited. I can't wait for Thursday!

This lil' boy has a birthday...

I can't believe it has a year since baby Landen came into our lives. His birthday was on the 1st and we got to celebrate twice! Once in Oklahoma with some wonderful friends and then in Arizona with family! The party in Arizona was a Toy Story theme. Landen shared the birthday with his cousin Aaron who was turning 4. We all went to see Toy Story 3 and that was Landen's first movie. He actually did surprisingly well!
The birthday boy!

One happy family!

The cake I made. I thought it turned out so cute! I was very proud of myself:)

This is what we got him. Everyone was asking if Landen was walking yet and if he had a push toy. I guess I needed to get him one! He loves it, but can't quite figure out how to turn it, so he gets stuck a lot!

This lil' boy has a birthday..this lil' boy right here...Heavenly Father bless him...through the coming year!
Happy Birthday my sweet baby Landen.

Eclipse

The wait is finally over. Eclipse is out and I got to see it. It was so fun to get a group together and enjoy it. We had a great time and Corbin even got into it yelling "Go Jacob." I was so embarrassed!( Notice the Kristen Stewart pin Corbin is wearing on his shoulder)

It's a tradition that after the movie we go to BJ's for some amazing dessert.
My best girlfriends! I loved being able to see it with them!
